• Early morning departure; • A visit to Bachkovo Monastery – the second biggest monastery in Bulgaria and a spiritual centre of the country boasting traditions dating back to 11th century; • Departure to Sofia – lunch; • Sofia – a walking tour of the main landmarks of the capital (St. Alexander Nevski Cathedral, the National Assembly building, St. Nicholas Russian Church, the Summer Palace, the Presidency, the Council of Ministers, St. Petka, St. George and St. Nedelya churches); • Late afternoon departure to Rila Monastery; • Dinner and overnight in the vicinity of the monastery; 2. Day: • Breakfast; • Optional visit of the early morning mass at the monastery church; • A sightseeing tour of Rila Monastery – the biggest and the most beautiful one in the country, an excellent example of the Bulgarian Revival arts and architecture; • Departure to Rupite country veiled in the halo of the mystic energy of Prophet Vanga who chose to spend here the last days of her life; • Free time for exploring the complex around “St. Petka of Bulgaria” temple; • Continue to the village of Zlatolist – visit of “St. Georgi” Church, the living and burial place of Reverend Stoyna considered to be the spiritual mother of Vanga; • Lunch; • A visit to “St. Trinity” Church in Bansko dating back to 19. century and known for its beautiful iconostasis and frescoes; • Afternoon departure and late evening return. |
